This page explains the criteria behind the ranked list on our home page, written by Derek Whitfield, our Senior Payments Analyst.

iGO Licensing Verification

An operator has to hold current registration with iGaming Ontario before it appears on this site. We check this before adding or keeping any operator in the ranking.

Payout Speed

The main sorting criterion on our home page. We build an editorial estimate for each operator from its published banking methods, typically separating e-wallet processing from card and bank processing. These are estimates based on stated methods, not lab-tested results.

Game Selection

We look at the breadth of slots, table games, live dealer tables and, where relevant, poker traffic, weighted toward what matters to an Ontario player choosing between similar-looking sites.

Secure Banking

We check that Interac e-Transfer and standard card methods are supported, and note where e-wallet options are available, since those tend to move fastest.

Player Protection Tools

We check that deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and reality checks are present and easy to find in account settings, not buried behind support tickets.

Additional Factors

Welcome offer value, wagering requirement fairness and mobile experience all factor into the review text, though payout speed remains the primary sort order for the ranked list.
